Let's go whale watching!

Each winter southern Californians have the privilege of seeing migrating gray whales right off shore! ACS-LA is committed to educating people about these great creatures. Along with the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, ACS-LA trains docents to accompany whalewatch trips to educate the public about the whales, dolphins, and other sea creatures that live off our coast.

Trips are available late December through April, and are usually 3 hours long. The Whalewatch docents are available for trips with these organizations:

Redondo Sport Fishing
233 N Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach, CA 90277

Long Beach Sportfishing
555 Pico Ave., Berth 55 Landing, Long Beach, CA 90802
(562) 432-8993

Spirit Cruises, San Pedro
Ports O' Call Village, San Pedro, CA 90731

*** Make sure to mention that you read about them here ***

If you are interested in participating in our program, classes start the first week in October, and are held each Tuesday at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium through March. Please email us at acsla@acs-la.org for more information.

Have you been on one of our whalewatch trips? Do you have a story to share? We would love to publish stories from people who have been on our trips. Please email us at acsla@acs-la.org to share your adventure! We will update this page with stories as we get them.
