What Dead Marine Mammals Ate: The Evolution of Feeding in Marine Mammals Through the Cenozoic by Peter Adam This month we will hear about some of the detective work that goes into studying animals that are no longer around. Peter Adam will update us on his research on pinniped systematics and the evolution of feeding and locomotion. He will also talk about the extinct West Indian monk seal, which he recently studied, and he will take us to his current PhD work, marine mammal feeding guilds through the Cenozoic. Peter Adam has a BSc in Zoology from the University of Calgary and is currently working on his MSc in Systematics at San Diego State University and on his Ph.D. at UCLA. He has authored numerous papers and is a contributing author to the recently published "Encyclopedia of Marine Mammals." The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is located at 3720 Stephen M.
